It is possible to create a strong community of learners even if you are teaching in a remote setting, but it DOES take intentionality. The good news is that a little effort can go a long way, so you don’t need to turn yourself inside out or spend hours coming up with virtual ice breakers to form trusting relationships with and between students. With over five years of experience working in a remote setting, I’ve learned a thing or two about how to connect with others, even if you can’t be face to fact.
